A founding partner of the firm, Mr. Neuman represents corporations and owners of closely held corporations in various tax-related transactions, including tax-free exchanges of real estate and executive compensation planning. He has obtained private letter rulings from the Internal Revenue Service in connection with the income tax aspects of various corporate transactions. Mr. Neuman spent more than five years as a trial attorney with the Internal Revenue Services Office of Chief Counsel in Boston and in Louisville, Kentucky. He has experience handling tax disputes, including litigation before the United States Tax Court.

Mr. Neuman has represented clients in numerous types of business transactions, including acquisitions, the sale of businesses and the representation of shareholders in disputes over control of closely held corporations. He is skilled in estate planning for owners of closely held businesses and has worked on a wide variety of estate planning problems, including the transfer of closely held businesses from one generation of family ownership to another, the use of revocable and irrevocable trusts, the use of life insurance in estate planning, and the use of charitable trusts to effect estate tax savings.
