Kenneth Solomon, Jeffrey Kass join Gallop, Johnson & Neuman IP group

As posted in the St. Louis Business Journal

Gallop, Johnson & Neuman's Intellectual Property Practice Group continues to expand its IP practice with the addition of Kenneth Solomon and Jeffrey Kass, former partners at the Thompson Coburn and Armstrong Teasdale law firms, respectively.

The firm said the addition of Solomon and Kass was needed to meet client demand since IP law is the fastest-growing area of the legal profession.

"More biotechnology, pharmaceutical, chemical, computer and other high-tech industries, as well as companies in virtually every industry sector, are dealing with needs to protect and leverage their IP assets in a changing global business world," John Kepler III, chair of the Intellectual Property Group at Gallop, said in a statement.

St. Louis-based Gallop's IP practice, now with 10 attorneys, has grown by nearly 100 percent in terms of new clients and existing client case activity since Kepler III joined the firm and assumed chair of the group in November 2005.

Solomon has more than 25 years of experience representing IP clients in the U.S. and internationally. He oversees thousands of pending matters in his management of large intellectual property portfolios comprising hundreds of patents and trademarks throughout the world. Solomon's clients include Converse and Broyhill Furniture, a business unit of St. Louis-based Furniture Brands International Inc. (NYSE: FBN).

Kass focuses his practice in trademark, copyright and patent litigation, as well as trademark law, technology law, business and commercial litigation, broker-dealer arbitration and business planning matters.

Gallop, which does not disclose total revenue, is the 10th largest law firm in the St. Louis area with 75 local licensed attorneys, according to Business Journal research.
